Hey guys! So it certainly has been as while since I have blogged on my site. I hope that you have been keeping up with us on Instagram. If not, hop on over and follow us for behind the scenes scoop and our latest projects!

SO, what has happened since I last blogged? We had a BABY! Yes, my little Arabella has been in the world for about 6 months now. I took a longer maternity break than I thought due to complications. After about 4 months off we are now back in the studio! Thank you to all my amazing clients for allowing me time to recover!

We have also started a passion project that is super near and dear to my heart. I started a blog about mom/worklife balance with a focus on entrepreneurs. I found the transition extremely difficult. So, I wanted to document my process and maybe even help a mom or two! Check it out if you have little ones:

I am also now offering branding + Web Design for all my mompreneurs and lady bosses. I remember being a beginner and bootstrapping my site for years. It was only when I hired a pro was I able to truly harness the power of a website! That pro is now my mentor, which allows me to help women grow their businesses and dominate their markets! Head on over to Henry-Charles Design now for pricing and more information!

So, it has been quite a while since my last post! But since then the Pretty Peacock brand has gone through a lot of changes. One of the B I G G  E S T changes is that we have moved back to Orlando. I know, I know, this was super sudden, but believe me, it’s a blessing! As you may know, we moved to DC for my husband’s job last year. The reason we moved back is because…..DRUMROLL please….WE ARE PREGNANT! As I write this post, I am 17 weeks and 4 days pregnant! We feel so blessed to be chosen to birth a child into this world. When we found out, we knew the best decision would be the hardest decision, and that was to find a job closer to home. But then, the greatest blessing came. Jeff was able to transfer within his company, and whatayaknow, they had an office 15 minutes north of Orlando! Just like that, our city livin’ turned into a mad dash for Florida! The last month has taken quite a toll on me but I feel so incredibly blessed. I can’t thank Jehovah enough for making our paths straight and helping us to do this!

Another change that we will be experiencing towards the end of the year is maternity leave. This is something that I have been toying with for quite some time. When do I stop working? What will brides do if their wedding is next year? etc. So to solve this I will be rolling out a pre-designed line of stationery at the beginning of this fall. I will still hold consults for my local girls so they can see the quality in person. However, instead of doing super custom pieces, I will be signing contracts for only our line of stationery and gifts. This line will be super modern and streamline in an effort to fit in with a multitude of styles for my girls! We are taking the summer to work on this line and to take a break from the back to back nature of producing for clients. This is a big change and I hope that everyone loves what we are working on as much as I do!

While we were living up north we had our 5 year anniversary photos done by the sweetest, most amazing photographer, Liz Fogarty of Elizabeth Fogarty Photography. I can’t tell you how amazing she is! We wanted something special to commemorate our five years of marriage and 9 years of being together. I spoke to many photogs about my vision and dreams but most fell flat. From start to finish, Liz just clicked, it was seriously a dream experience! You can find our session on her site here!

In lieu of all the changes that are happening around here, we will also be updating our website. I was never really in love with this layout. So, we will be rolling out a brand sparkling new site along with our pre-designed line at the beginning of fall! Get ready for some awesome changes!!!!

Rustic Glam Photo shoot Featured on Charm City Weds

Rustic Glam Wedding Invitations by Pretty Peacock Paperie - Orlando Wedding InvitationsRead more

One of our latest shoots got picked up by Charm City Weds back in April! I am so excited and thrilled to have been featured on this beautiful shoot by S. Coleman Photography! For this shoot, we covered a folio with canvas and hand painted fern elements directly onto the invitation for a touch of rustic charm.  The inner invitation features a lace pocket and hand drawn elements! I just love how this suite came together! We used tons of pinks, greens and peachy tones to keep the overall feel of the invitations light, airy and sweet. Silk and velvet ribbon accented the outer portion of the invitation and created even more glam and texture.

Love how the suite turned out? See the entire shoot here:

Stay tuned we have some very exciting news to share with you in the very new future! I can’t reveal anything right now, but I promise to keep everyone updated within the next couple of weeks on our progress. This news is pretty big and I am so excited to share with you soon!

So, I kind of went M.I.A. for a bit towards the end of the year and the beginning of the year. I will be quite honest here! Since the move, spending time with family has been the top of my priority list. I now know the importance of family and spending quality time! So once the holidays hit, I made a huge decision. I turned OFF my phone and only checked emails once a day. I worked with the clients I had in my queue and vowed to not take on any new clients until the new year.

This was a really big decision and I am so happy I made it. It is not easy turning away clients. Lord knows how much I love each and everyone of you! But, I could not have asked for a better time with my family and husband.

The holiday season is always tricky for me. We have Thanksgiving and then Christmas, shortly after comes New Year’s Eve/Day (My most favorite holiday) and then after that I have my wedding anniversary on the 2nd! Usually, I am left juggling a million tasks for clients with the season. Thankfully that did not happen this year! I was able to slow down and focus on what really matters, on what cannot be bought in stores and making memories to last a lifetime!

Since then I have just been working with contracted clients. We are now taking on new clients (3 new beauties this week alone! ) and I will be in Orlando from tomorrow until the 6th! SO, if you want a consultation with little ole me, be sure to book one today, as spots are going fast!

Tomorrow I will share some photos from our Anniversary trip to New Orleans! Stay tuned loves! Love you dolls!

A Reflection of 9-11

Bible Quotes Revelation 21:4 by Pretty Peacock PaperieRead more

So as we all know, today is September 11th. A day that is truly somber in the U.S. My heart goes out to all the families who lost loved ones on that day. I know there is no way that I can really relate but I want to offer you my love and support. I also want you to know that God is with you always. He will guide you and take care of you! A scripture that always helps me cope is

REVELATION 21:4, And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and Death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be no more. The former things have passed away.

Today, I started my day with a run. I reflected the entire time on life and how lucky we are to be alive. It is so important to wake up everyday and love your family and friends. Tell them how much you appreciate them and love them. Hug them, spend time with them. And, really do this. Don’t just be in a room with them. Spend time with them! That means being less conscious of all our technology and more conscious of moments together! I know this is hard. Even  I falter on this sometimes. (Especially, because I run a business.) But you have to fight the urge, because essentially our lives are not guaranteed.

We must also live according to God. We should live to please him and in a fashion that would make him proud. That means loving ALL of our brothers and sisters worldwide and offering support to those around us! Nothing is ever gained in hate and we must set the example.

Again, my heart goes out to those family and friends who lost loved ones. My hope is that you can find comfort in God and the outpouring of love!
