I get so many questions about the types of invitations I create. I think many times people see my emphasis on weddings and assume that I only create wedding stationery. Well, the truth is, I create custom stationery for ALL life moments. Weddings are just the beginning! We create baby shower invitations, announcements, personal and corporate stationery, business branding and website creation. Head on over to our contact page to discuss your design needs!

In the meantime, here is some baby shower inspo! I loved creating these Navy and Lime Green Baby Shower invitations for my sorority sister! She chose a beautiful modern color combo! Definitely not traditional and that is exactly why I loved this suite!navy and lime baby shower invitations - reston, va. navy and lime baby shower invitations - reston, va. navy and lime baby shower invitations - reston, va.

So, I kind of went M.I.A. for a bit towards the end of the year and the beginning of the year. I will be quite honest here! Since the move, spending time with family has been the top of my priority list. I now know the importance of family and spending quality time! So once the holidays hit, I made a huge decision. I turned OFF my phone and only checked emails once a day. I worked with the clients I had in my queue and vowed to not take on any new clients until the new year.

This was a really big decision and I am so happy I made it. It is not easy turning away clients. Lord knows how much I love each and everyone of you! But, I could not have asked for a better time with my family and husband.

The holiday season is always tricky for me. We have Thanksgiving and then Christmas, shortly after comes New Year’s Eve/Day (My most favorite holiday) and then after that I have my wedding anniversary on the 2nd! Usually, I am left juggling a million tasks for clients with the season. Thankfully that did not happen this year! I was able to slow down and focus on what really matters, on what cannot be bought in stores and making memories to last a lifetime!

Since then I have just been working with contracted clients. We are now taking on new clients (3 new beauties this week alone! ) and I will be in Orlando from tomorrow until the 6th! SO, if you want a consultation with little ole me, be sure to book one today, as spots are going fast!

Tomorrow I will share some photos from our Anniversary trip to New Orleans! Stay tuned loves! Love you dolls!

XOXO,

Natalie

3 Quick Tips: What to do BEFORE you Meet with your Stationer

3 Quick Tips: What to do BEFORE you Meet with your Stationer
1. Do some research. I tell my clients to always do their research. Make sure you want to work with this person. Get an idea of what you want. What are the possibilities!? The more you know the easier the process will go! Interact with your favorite stationers on social media and ask questions! Read about processes and read about the different types of invitations and printing processes. ::Shameless plug:: We have some pretty amazing content on our site about this! Feel free to take a peek! I want every couple to be informed about what goes into their stationery purchase.
2. Know what you can spend and what things cost. So often couples come to me with no idea of what things cost. This goes back to research. Get on the internet and Google! (My best friend) Many vendors will at least put their starting prices on their site. This will give you a ballpark. Keep in mind that many custom design houses implement an additional design fee in addition to the cost of the actual invitations! So factor this into your budget.
3. Know your timeline AND your numbers. Let me say that again, KNOW your timeline AND your numbers! Having your details together will definitely save you time and headache. Right now I have at least three brides that are on re-order for their wedding invitations. I say it until I am turquoise in the face! Order extras and start the process with enough time. You should be ordering at least 10% extra. If you have a large guests list, order at least 15-20% extra. I have had quite a few brides under order with me this year. This is a costly mistake. You will end up paying more for reorders than if you just purchase a few extra. Many stationers, myself included will charge a fee for reorder, so make sure you check that list twice!

3 Quick Tips: How to Effectively Proofread Your Invitations

3 Quick Tips: How to Effectively Proofread Your Invitations
I think many times people disregard or underestimate the revision process. This is the key to making sure your invitations turn out beautifully. So, treat it with respect and give your revisions the time and dedication that it needs.
Here are 3 Quick Tips to make sure the process goes smoothly!
1. Who, Where, Why, When, and sometimes How! Be sure to have these key components on your invitation. Your invitations should give your guests the most amount of information about the event as possible.  Be sure that the suite has your key information and then expand on it!
2. Have an extra set of eyes read it. This is really important! I say to have at least 3 people read your entire suite. Choose people who actually care about getting it right. Do you know an English teacher or a professor? Choose them before your friend who has zero interest in your invitations!
3. Take your time and check for spelling. I think the key here is taking your time. Go through your wording with a fine tooth comb. Set aside time to do this. Don’t try and multitask on the commute home or do it at work. REALLY set aside time in a quiet place to read through everything! Your wallet and your stationer will thank you!
